In class today, we we able to complete the calculations for a lab labeled the Hydrogen Peroxide Lab. In the lab, we were given the information for the data table and were then able to carry out the necessary calculations. It asked for the mass of the two substances used in the lab, Potassium permanganate and Hydrogen peroxide. It also asked for the mass of Hydrogen peroxide used for all of the KMnO4.
Here is an image of what the lab would've looked similar too if it was actually carried out:
Here is a link to a website explaining the lab in further detail: https://www.flinnsci.com/media/620640/91253.pdf
Here is a link to a website to help review how to do the calculations: https://www.khanacademy.org/science/chemistry/chemical-reactions-stoichiome/stoichiometry-ideal/v/stoichiometry
This is a great summary of the lab and the link was useful on the steps and procedures. Next time you can also add the calculations used in the lab or the results that you received. But regardless, great post.
ReplyDeleteKendall, since we were not able to actually conduct the lab ourselves, I think your post does a good job explaining how it would be. I think it would help to explain how you were able to calculate the masses you were supposed to, and this would have made the lab more explanatory. Otherwise, your picture was great since we could not see it in lab, and your link adds detail that would be important to know if conducting. Thanks for the great post!
